We said it would be a lot to sacrifice, we didn’t have time.
We heard of others needs and told of our own.
We learned to help others and by doing so found out how to
help ourselves.
We wept for others and wept for ourselves.
We expressed our weaknesses and got strength and support from others.
It was a lot to sacrifice, we didn’t have time.
In confidence we poured out our inner fears and struggles with life.
We talked of hard times, we talked of concerns, we talked of blessings.
We spoke about broken hearts, we spoke of hearts filled with joy, we praised all good news.
We prayed for healing and we prayed for insight.
We talked about sin and we talked about righteousness.
Our hearts met, we cried together.
It was a lot to sacrifice, we didn’t have time.
We talked about a light in the darkness some have seen.
We spoke of others pain and suffering and how it surpassed our own.
We talked of ways to share the burden of others.
As our sacrifice became smaller our blessings became larger.
We were reminded of Jesus and his sacrifice, and why he died.
Our sacrifice to help others became very small, maybe we do have
time.
