Cowboy Jerry

Cowboy Jerry’s Story
2004

Cowboy Jerry is just a country boy that likes to email, do humor writing, raise cattle, collect rocks, fossils, and sing in the church choir. Jerry is an avid observer of wildlife and much of what he observes makes it into his stories.   Jerry also teaches silversmithing.  He maintains a studio/classroom near his home and writes curriculum for classes.  Jerry has a BS in secondary education, chemistry and mathematics, and a MS degree in Earth Science.

Taking trips with the "rock hound club" and camping are some of his favorite things to do.  He works in a fishing trip to the coast sometimes also.  For reading, he prefers true stories about mountain climbing of the tallest peaks in the world.

Not having any children of his own, he has been blessed with teaching other people's children mathematics, earth science, life science, chemistry, physics, computer programming, computer science, computer literacy and lots of study halls for about 35 years.  He has taught Introduction to Computers at a local college, and does some technical writing.  His favorite writing is done about local people and animals centered on true events with a twist of embellishment and humor.

There are no boring weekends, and if you want to visit at the Davis Elm Creek Ranch, you will have to call for reservations. Well, don't call after 10:30pm; Cowboy Jerry likes to have his sleep, you know.

A gem and mineral web site he helps to maintain is www.txol.net/rockclub
